Customer Delivery Driver - Click & Collect Redruth Extra
We are looking for Customer Delivery Drivers to join Tesco in Redruth. This role focuses on delivering excellent customer service in addition to the delivery of orders.
Pay: Our rate of pay starts from £13.35 per hour; this increases to £14.56 for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may apply depending on location.
Work hours: We offer a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours per week, with options to work fewer hours (minimum 12) if desired. You will be scheduled for contracted hours within advertised availability windows and will receive 3 weeks’ notice of shifts. We support flexible working where possible.
Availability: Availability windows are: Monday 12:00–22:00, Thursday 12:00–22:00, Friday 13:00–22:00, Saturday 07:00–14:00. Adjustments may be possible if exact times differ slightly from advertised.
Role overview: As a Tesco Customer Delivery Driver you are the face of Tesco on the road, delivering to customers’ homes across a wide area. The role combines driving with customer service, problem solving, and teamwork with store colleagues and managers.
Key responsibilities
* Ensure the van and trays are clean, tidy, and organized.
* Keep the delivery area and vehicle clean and safe, including removing rubbish and litter as you see it.
* Wash and maintain delivery trays as part of the tray wash process.
* Load the van, check for roadworthiness, and communicate order changes or substitutions to customers, including refunds when appropriate.
* Handle products with care and deliver within the customer’s time slot.
* Inform customers if substitutions may affect pricing and confirm there will be no extra charges.
* Make timely deliveries and call the customer if arriving early or if running late; contact store/centre if delayed by 30 minutes or more.
Requirements: A valid UK/EU/EEA driving licence (full or automatic) for at least 12 months with no more than 3 penalty points.
