Nurse / Midwife Practitioner – 19.5 hours

Are you a Registered Adult Nurse or Midwife who is passionate about reproductive healthcare?
We are looking for a Nurse or Midwife Practitioner to join the clinical team within our Doncaster Unit. You will work part‑time, 19.5 hours per week over Monday, Tuesday and Saturday.
About the role
You will provide high‑quality clinical care to our clients across a range of BPAS reproductive healthcare services including termination of pregnancy, STI testing & treatment, contraception & vasectomy. You will be involved in all stages of the client pathway from consultation through to treatment and will work in all areas of the unit including theatre & recovery. This role involves providing treatment & clinical information to clients both in person & over the phone.
About You
You will be a Registered Adult Nurse Level 1 or Midwife (practising) with active NMC registration and PIN. You will have at least 12 months of clinical practice experience and a keen interest in sexual health & reproductive healthcare. Clinical knowledge & experience of safeguarding and Fraser/Gillick competencies are essential. You will have excellent interpersonal, communication and listening skills and you will be adept at caring for clients in a compassionate & empathetic way.
Main duties of the job
* Work in accordance with NMC guidelines for Professional Practice and regulatory frameworks of the Abortion Act 1967 and Health & Social Care Act, as well as BPAS clinical policies and procedures.
* Ensure that the client understands her options in relation to pregnancy and, if choosing termination, meets the grounds of the Abortion Act.
* Provide information on STI testing, undertake tests and provide results and discuss, inform and confirm the client's future choice of contraception.
* Carefully check for and implement any procedure indicated on client case notes, including administering medication for medical abortion procedures or cervical preparation.
* Carry out post‑treatment check‑ups by assessing the physical condition of the client and discussing any concerns.
* Complete relevant paperwork and, in the event of post‑treatment problems, make arrangements with the clinic or refer to an NHS agency if necessary.
* Care for and support clients undergoing surgical treatments, including general anaesthetic, conscious sedation or local anaesthetic.
We are also looking for
* Sound & accurate administrative competence with attention to detail.
* Gynaecological nursing experience or relevant specialty such as sexual health, contraception.
* Venepuncture / cannulation skills.
* Comfortable using IT and Microsoft Packages including Outlook, Word and Teams.

£39,959 – £46,656 per annum – pro rata for part‑time hours.
