The Quality Assurance Engineer role is primarily responsible for carrying out Arriva's engineering bus safety auditing programme (3rd Line of Defence) and supporting a reduction in safety critical deficiencies.
Working closely with stakeholders, Quality Assurance Engineers maintain and enhance vehicle safety and reliability.
This role involves extensive travelling to all Arriva bus locations.
Direct responsibilities:
- Conducting Arriva's engineering bus safety auditing programme.
- Support and monitor engineering improvement plans to completion.
- Creating audit findings report and present results to senior leaders.
- Perform vehicle supplier visits & oversee new vehicle sign off.
- Assist with incident investigation and support improvement plan creation.
- Conduct due diligence for new business opportunities.
Knowledge, skills & experience:
- Transport engineering qualification (Technical background required).
- Experience within the transport industry, preferably PCV (Passenger Carrying Vehicle).
- Excellent technical ability and problem solving skills.
- Highly organised & self-motivated.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft applications.
Success criteria & indicators:
- Successful completion of the annual engineering bus safety audit Programme. - Reduction in significant avoidable & unavoidable vehicle defects.
- Implementation and monitoring of effective improvement plans
- Clear and effective communication with Arriva's senior leadership team.
