Position: Loader / Handler / Crane Operator / Site Supervisor
Location: Glasson Dock
This is a hands-on supervisory role in a busy dockside environment. Previous experience in port, transport, or logistics operations is desirable. Crane and forklift operation experience is advantageous, but training will be provided where required. Flexibility, reliability, and strong leadership are essential.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
* Supervising day-to-day dockside operations and ensuring smooth running of the site
* Handling customers' goods from hauliers and overseeing safe receipt and storage
* Managing the safe storage and stowage of goods to minimise unnecessary handling
* Inputting and overseeing documentation, ensuring accurate communication with the Isle of Man office
* Coordinating container loading, listing, and quay checks to maintain operational standards
* Ensuring standards are upheld across all areas of the port, including cleanliness and organisation
* Operating and supervising the safe use of forklifts and dockside cranes (training provided if required)
* Leading vessel loading operations in line with schedules and safety requirements
* Supervising and supporting staff to ensure adherence to Health & Safety procedures
* Assisting with ad hoc business and administrative duties as required, including liaising with accounts
* Acting as the primary point of contact for operational issues and escalating matters as appropriate
Reporting Line
This role reports directly to Senior Management and is responsible for the supervision of operational staff at Glasson Dock.

* £39,000 per annum (subject to successful probationary period)
