Who We Are Looking For
We are seeking Service Engineers to uphold the operational functionality and presentation of Wernick Power Solutions (WPS) equipment, including generators, diesel tanks, distribution systems, cabling, and associated ancillaries. Reporting to the Service Manager, you will conduct routine inspections, testing, servicing, attend breakdowns and repairs, and perform installation and commissioning tasks while maintaining our high standards of customer service, safety, and quality. You will be on call on a rota basis with additional pay for on-call periods and call-outs.
The Role
Key Responsibilities
* Adhere to and promote SHEQ group standards.
* Achieve optimum, yet safe productivity levels with designated workload.
* Manage transactional elements such as breakdowns, services, PDI, damage assessment, and timesheets.
* Demonstrate excellent customer service skills.
* Provide Safety Observations for unsafe practices in the depot or on a customer site.
* Keep overdue servicing below 6% of total fleet in your designated area.
* Keep training and competencies updated via the PDP skills matrix.
* Provide support outside normal duties for the Depot and Service Manager as required.
* Maintain the company vehicle in good condition and stocked with tools, oils, consumables, and safety equipment.
* Proactively pursue self-development through training platforms and structured sessions.
* Support colleagues as needed and/or when necessary.
* Ensure depot and engineering standards are maintained.
Essential Criteria
* Skills and experience in mechanical or electrical disciplines relevant to the equipment.
* Ability to perform competent maintenance routines, whether in field service or depot-based roles.
* In-depth fault diagnosis, dismantling, repair, and testing skills for the defined equipment type (repair roles).
* Experience with generator engines is essential.
* Clean and tidy appearance and a full driving license, with travel as an essential part of the job.
* Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable Criteria
* Hold a C&G, NVQ, or other recognized professional qualifications in the relevant technical discipline.
* Experience across multiple technical disciplines (mechanical and electrical).
* Hands-on experience in service, maintenance, installation, and repair of diesel-driven generators.
