Our Executive leadership (ExCo) team and Board members have an elevated security risk profile which requires proportionate and bespoke security measures to keep them safe physically and virtually (cyber). Delivering this Exec Protection programme will provide the optimum level of protection without being overly intrusive to enable these senior leadership teams to achieve their objectives.
BT’s colleagues who undertake international travel also have additional risks whilst travel that need to be mitigated. By providing colleagues, whether they are in-country workforce, International Assignees or just attending business events, the appropriate level of physical, personal and/or cyber protection and advice will enable them to achieve their business objectives.
This role is based in BT's London Office & follows 3 days in the office, 2 days from home
What you’ll be doing
A key role to lead the Executive and Travel Security team I’ll be required to monitor the threat environment of our senior executives and develop and deliver the operational deployment of the Exec Protection programme and I’ll deliver an effective Travel Risk Management programme for our global travellers, all of which will involve conducting research and make recommendations and decisions to keep individuals safe.
* Effectively lead the Executive and Travel Security function
* Identify and implement key changes/upgrades to core systems & processes
* Own and manage Travel and Executive Security Intranet content
Executive Security:
* Be a trusted security advisor to the Executives in scope and their support teams on all aspects of their security.
* Develop and maintain a robust security strategy tailored to the risk presented to the Executives in scope which will encompass Cyber, Physical and Personnel security risk.
* Maintain regular risk assessments for Executives in scope which encompasses Cyber, Physical and Personnel security risk and share the output from these risk assessments to Executives and CEO’s office.
* Engage with Hospitality providers to ensure compliance with Travel policy and Executive Security requirements.
* Ensure engagement with CEO’s Office and Event Security in relation to any events attended by Executives (AGM, Hospitality etc).
* Oversee and provide resilience to Exec Assistant / PA community engagement to ensure information flow is working and continuous dialogue maintained.
* Reviewing and ensure compliance of Exec travel bookings with policy.
* Risk assessment whereabouts of Executives on a weekly basis.
* Own and manage TSCM provision for Board and Exco.
Travel Security
* Maintain compliance with ISO 31030.
* Oversee Travel Ready programme.
* Assess, recommend and authorise Risk Mitigation for Medium /High risk destinations.
* Engage with and support Travellers to Medium and High-Risk Destination.
* Identify global security trends, particularly those where BT regularly travel.
* Production of reports such as Country specific advice or Executive Summaries.
* Monitor and Lead engagement with External Projects -MoFA – Bowan etc.
* Own and manage engagement and contracts with 3rd party security providers.
* Improving Customer Experience to deliver excellent and consistent service.
* Undertake such administrative and clerical procedures in connection with the unit when required and other duties of a similar nature as may be required from time to time commensurate with the grading of the post.

Skills Required for the Role
* International Security knowledge - understanding and interest in Geopolitics and understanding of factors that impact international relationships and travel
* Security Process - understanding of international and external systems that build the executive and travel security function. As well as the security policy that under pins them.
* Stakeholder Management – proven track record in public and/or private sector as a trusted advisor to C suite, covering all aspects of personnel, cyber and physical security
* Security Management - at least 5-10 years of experience in security management or a similar role
* Cyber Security - experience in cyber security, including risk assessment, incident response, end point and network security. This is crucial given the increasing importance of protecting digital assets.
* Emergency/Incident Response - proven experience in emergency response planning and crisis management
* Technology Proficiency - familiarity with security technologies such as CCTV, access control systems, and alarm systems. This includes hands-on experience with relevant security equipment and software.
* Communication skills – highly proficient communicator, Able to present and influence up to and including C suite.
* Compliance and Legal Knowledge- experience ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations related to security and safety. This includes knowledge of industry standards and best practices.
* Building Relationships - able to build strong, trusting relationships with Leadership Teams (Director and above). Build partner relationships with key vendors and industry/agency partners.
* Collaborative Partner - easy to work alongside, with and builds positive and collaborative working relationships with their colleagues. Looking to share, support and find better ways of working together.
* Inspiring Leadership - ability to inspire people, both directly with their team and further afield, to deliver beyond their assumed limits and unite behind a vision and purpose.
* Influencing skills - ability to persuade, influence and motivate others, with the right sense of urgency, without having formal authority.
* Time management - the ability to work in a fast-paced environment in a timely manner. Knowing when to prioritise certain items for delivery.
* Strategic thinker - problem solving is key due to the variety of unique factors involved in the areas of responsibility.
Experience Required for the Role
* 3 – 5 years of Travel and Executive Security work
* Ability to work effectively in a global business context.
* Understanding of security technologies, techniques and best practices.
* Experience in planning and managing security.
* Experience in handling key travel systems
* Typically qualified to degree level with professional experience with industry recognised qualifications or commensurate relevant experience.
