Position Overview
Part 21J Cabin Interiors, Design & Certification Engineer – Boeing Global Services (BGS) EASA Modifications Team, Frimley, UK. The role reports to the Aircraft Interior Modifications Manager and supports EASA modification activities for interior cabin changes, cargo handling, water & waste systems, and exterior liveries across Boeing aircraft models (747, 767, 777, 787, 737NG, 737MAX). Participants will work directly with airline and leasing customers, collaborating with global engineering services across time zones using 3‑D/2‑D CAD tools.
Key Responsibilities
* Design Engineering: develop innovative aerospace designs, create detailed design documentation (CAD models, engineering drawings, specifications), assist in test plans and procedures.
* Certification Engineering: collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure compliance with EASA/FAA regulations and Part 21J DOA requirements, prepare and review certification documents, participate in certification projects, liaise with regulatory authorities.
* Technical Support: provide technical support to production, testing, and maintenance teams, troubleshoot design and certification issues, propose solutions.
* Continuous Improvement: contribute to improvement initiatives within design and certification processes, stay updated with latest industry trends, technologies, and regulatory changes.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
* Strong understanding of aerospace design principles and engineering fundamentals.
* Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., CATIA, 3DExperience) and engineering analysis tools.
* Basic knowledge of EASA/FAA regulations and certification processes.
* Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
* Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
* Enthusiasm for learning and professional development.
* Previous project experience in aerospace design and certification is a plus.
