Position Overview
Departmental Lecturer, Faculty of Law – Public International Law. Full‑time fixed term, 1 year, based at the Faculty of Law, St Cross Building, St Cross Road, Oxford.
Responsibilities
* Deliver graduate and undergraduate teaching and supervision in Public International Law.
* Provide undergraduate Public International Law lectures and tutorial/seminar teaching for postgraduate subjects, including International Environmental Law, International Law and Armed Conflict, and International Economic Law.
* Engage in internationally leading research within the field of the post.
* Assist with teaching methods, course design, reading lists, and course materials.
* Conduct seminars and tutorials, and examine for the Faculty, including qualifying tests and confirmation of status examinations for research student progression.
* Attend weekly research seminars for doctoral students during term.
Qualifications
* Proven record of high‑quality research and publication in Public International Law commensurate with career experience.
* Doctorate in Public International Law, or anticipated completion (including viva) by the start of the post.
* For those who do not yet hold a doctorate, a comparable level demonstrated through publications and a willingness to undertake pastoral responsibilities associated with undergraduate and graduate teaching, and administrative duties.
* Desirable: proven teaching and supervision record.
