About you and this role The Logistics Technician is responsible for the safe, efficient, and accurate completion of both Packaged and Bulk material flow activity across the site. Through understanding the overall strategy and the daily operational requirements of the site, the Senior Site Logistics Technician works in partnership with Site Logistics and Operations teams to coordinate and to complete daily requirements, ensuring the priorities of the site are fulfilled. The Senior Technician is a subject matter expert in both Packaged and Bulk logistics, providing operational capability, front line leadership and technical guidance, and provides training and mentoring for less experienced technicians. The role is pivotal in driving continuous improvement, maintaining high standards of compliance, and ensuring seamless integration between Site Logistics and Operations. As a trusted role model, the Senior Site Logistics Technician demonstrates integrity and professionalism, fosters a culture of accountability and collaboration, and builds strong cross-functional relationships. Responsibilities Material Handling & Compliance: Perform and support loading, unloading, packaging, and material movement, ensuring adherence to all safety and legal standards. Process Operations: Operate logistics process equipment, conduct field checks, prepare for maintenance, take samples, and troubleshoot process deviations. Collaboration & Optimization: Work closely with production coordinators and site teams to resolve issues and optimize material flows. Warehouse & Inventory Management: Oversee receipt, storage, and booking of materials; lead inventory accuracy through checks and ensure all transactions are properly recorded in SAP/ADC/BCMS. Safety, Compliance & Mentoring: Champion safety standards, lead compliance audits, manage operating discipline documentation, and mentor less experienced team members. Continuous Improvement & Training: Drive process improvements, participate in incident investigations, and train site technicians in logistics best practices. Qualifications Valid Reach Truck and Counterbalance Forklift licences; Terberg shunt vehicle and advanced tanker handling experience required. Minimum 10 years' experience in logistics operations, with proven proficiency in both Packaged and Bulk disciplines. Competence in using MRP/ERP systems such as SAP, ADC, and BCMS for real-time data entries. GCSE Grade or associate degree (or equivalent educational qualification). Your Skills Extensive experience in both Packaged and Bulk Logistics Operations. Demonstrated ability to influence, drive improvements, and act as a subject matter expert for Site Logistics. Able to take the initiative and confidently make decisions that align with broader business objectives and operational priorities. Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and crisis response skills. Excellent communication, teamwork, and mentoring abilities. Exhibits excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, schedule work efficiently, and optimize the use of available resources.
