ENGINEERING APPRENTICE

Full time – 4 years
A 4-year academic and on-the-job apprenticeship to achieve the Food and Drink (Multi-skilled) Engineering Maintenance Apprenticeship Level 3.
Included in the 4 years is off‑the‑job engineering training at Midlands Group Training Service (MGTS) in Coventry: 20 weeks in year 1, 14 weeks in year 2, and 6 weeks in year 3; the fourth year consolidates learning and prepares for the End Point Assessment.
Included Apprenticeship Training
* OAL Level 3 Maintenance Engineering (Electrical and Mechanical)
* BS7671 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
* Award in Food Safety level 3 and Principles of HACCP based Food Safety level 2
* Access to the latest technology in a purpose‑built training facility equipped with state‑of‑the‑art machinery, dairy technology and software control systems
* Potential to study to a higher level e.g. HNC or Degree on successful completion
Qualifications and Commitment
* At least three GCSEs including Mathematics at Grade B/level 6 and above, and English Language Grade C/level 5 and above
* A‑level Maths or A‑level Science would be highly desirable
* A keen interest in developing a career within Engineering and the food industry
* The determination to commit to a four‑year period of study and hard work
