This is an excellent opportunity for a Depot Support Operative to work as part of the team at our Specialist Vehicles Division in Edinburgh. We are seeking a Depot Support Operative to assist in all labouring duties and support all aspects of the transport and engineering functions at the depot. You must be a great team player, reliable, and have a keen desire to learn within an engineering environment. Responsibilities include:
1. Work with drivers to ensure all trucks are loaded safely and efficiently.
2. Pick and prepare machines for drivers as notified on Transport planning sheets.
3. Ensure all vehicles and drivers have loads available to maximize driving hours and vehicle efficiency.
4. Ensure diesel machines have tanks filled and chargeable invoicing information is completed daily.
5. Maintain and improve machine layout to optimize yard space.
6. Complete planned maintenance activities, including cleaning and painting machines and adhering to livery guidelines.
7. Organize engineer stores for efficient parts usage in line with the LSM.
8. Ensure compliance with Quality, Health, Safety, and Tech X standards and policies.
9. Provide high standards of customer care and maintain professionalism at all times.
10. Maintain personal appearance, including proper use of uniform and PPE.
11. Support the Location/Workshop Service Manager, Senior Service Engineer, and shift supervisor in maintenance operations.
12. Provide general depot maintenance as required.
13. Ensure electric machines are charged before and after inspection.
14. Support on-site tasks when needed.
15. Use the internal mobile application to complete tasks as planned by the LSM/WSM or SSE.
16. Be reliable and punctual.
17. Have a basic understanding of powered access.
18. Keen to learn and progress within an engineering environment.
19. Maintain a flexible attitude.
20. Work effectively as part of a team in a reactive environment.
21. Hold a full UK Drivers Licence.
22. Forklift Licence is desirable.
