We are delighted to invite candidates to apply to work with us in this dynamic and expanding Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department in a beautiful area of North Yorkshire. This post is based at York and Scarborough Hospitals for a period of 12 months. There are a total of 12 PAs available for this post and part time working will be considered.
Main duties of the job
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and forward-thinking Maxillofacial surgeon to this post, who will work well within the team to continue to develop several leading regional services.
The candidate will contribute to the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery on-call rota, covering a diverse area of North Yorkshire on a 1:7 basis. This is set out in a 7-day pattern with Friday morning handover.
The department and Trust both offer a welcoming and dynamic working environment, with opportunities to participate in teaching medical students from the Hull York Medical School (HYMS). Research opportunities are encouraged.
The candidate must have full GMC Registration and sufficient experience in the specialty to work independently in clinic and theatre.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
9. Hold a medical qualification registered with the GMC
10. Registerable qualification with GDC
11. Hold a licence to practise with the General Medical Council
Desirable criteria
12. MD or equivalent Higher Degree or evidence of relevant research
13. Substantive NHS experience
Clinical practice/competence
Essential criteria
14. Ability to demonstrate clinical experience and skill in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
15. Experience of working in an MDT environment
Mentoring and Teaching
Essential criteria
16. Experience of teaching undergraduate and post graduate trainees
17. Experience of undertaking Quality Improvement Projects and presenting their findings
