Hydraulics Engineer - BarnsleyAre you a hands-on Hydraulics Engineer who prefers being on site as much as in the office?Do you enjoy commissioning and fault-finding on large mechanical systems?Would you like to work on complex projects such as moving bridges, lock gates and roller coasters?What's in it for you:£45,000-£65,000 basic salary (DOE)25 days holiday plus bank holidaysCompany bonus4% employer pension contributionPrivate medical insurance & life insuranceWhat will you be doing?Commissioning hydraulic systems on siteFault-finding and resolving hydraulic issuesCarrying out isolations and working under permit systemsSupporting installation and hands-on delivery of mechanical handling equipmentProducing and reviewing hydraulic schematics and technical documentationWorking closely with mechanical and electrical engineers to deliver full turnkey projectsThis is a genuinely practical role, split roughly 50/50 between site and office. You'll be involved from installation through to final commissioning, taking ownership of hydraulic performance on complex mechanical handling systems.Where you'll be doing it?You'll be based in Barnsley with a specialist engineering business delivering full turnkey mechanical handling projects. They design, manufacture and install large-scale moving structures including bridges, lock gates and roller coasters. Projects are varied, technically challenging and highly visible.What you'll need:Strong experience with industrial hydraulic systemsProven commissioning and fault-finding experienceConfidence working on site, including permits and isolationsAbility to read and interpret hydraulic schematicsA practical, problem-solving approachRelevant engineering qualification or equivalent hands-on experienceWe appreciate your CV may not be up to date.
