We're passionate about creating a welcoming, inclusive and vibrant community hub. We're looking for a friendly, chatty, energetic and proactive Play Cafe Assistant to join our team.
Role Overview
As a Play Cafe Assistant, you'll be an integral member of the team, providing a friendly and exceptional experience for our customers. Your role will be varied, you will be responsible for welcoming families, making and serving drinks/food, maintaining the play area and supporting the delivery of birthday parties and events. You'll also assist with customer enquiries, ensuring a smooth, fun and enjoyable experience for everyone who visits.
Key Responsibilities on the job:
· Customer Service: Greet and engage with families, making them feel welcome and comfortable as they enjoy our space. Handle customer enquiries in person and by phone with professionalism and care.
· Cafe Assistance: Prepare and serve hot and cold drinks/food from our extensive menu ensuring presentation is considered with every order.
· Play Area Supervision: Ensure the cleanliness and safety of the café and play area by following health & safety guidelines and setting up the role play spaces.
· Event Assistance: Assist in the set-up and delivery of birthday parties and other events, ensuring everything runs seamlessly and that guests have a magical experience.
· Team Collaboration: Work closely with the team to ensure an efficient, friendly and well-run operation.
Key Skills & Qualities we are looking for:
· Friendly, Helpful & Approachable: A natural communicator with a positive attitude, high energy and a genuine love for working with children.
· Customer Focused: Committed to delivering excellent customer service, ensuring all visitors leave with a smile
· Organised & Detail-Oriented: Ability to multitask effectively and keep the play area and cafe clean and organised, especially during peak times.
· Team Player: Willingness to collaborate with your colleagues, adapt and be flexible to muck in, we are a small team
· Experience: Previous experience in a customer-facing role (especially within hospitality) would be preferred. Training will be provided. The successful candidate must be willing to have a DBS check completed.
Working times: Full Time - Monday to Friday
Salary: dependent on age and experience
