The opportunity has arisen to join an industry leader in the UK & Ireland’s Building Services sector. Alternative Heat designs, develops, and delivers a wide range of offsite-prefabricated, innovative, and sustainable building service solutions throughout the UK & Europe.
We specialise in the design, supply, and installation of prefabricated energy solutions, typically built in NI and shipped across the UK & Europe. We also offer turnkey design, build, and operate solutions for commercial energy centres and large-scale district heating projects, with extensive experience in delivering projects for public bodies across the UK & Europe.
Role Overview
Are you a Process Engineer seeking to work for a rapidly expanding company where you will play a key role in continuous improvement and business success? This role offers the chance to be a significant part of the organisation, focusing on optimizing production processes, enhancing efficiency, and maintaining high-quality standards.
You will be responsible for developing and implementing process controls that ensure consistency and quality, improving workflows, reducing waste, and supporting the introduction of new products and processes using standardized methodologies.
Job Title: Process Engineer
Location: Head Office, Banbridge
Hours: Monday-Thursday 8am-5pm, Friday 8am-3pm
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience
Responsible to: Production Manager
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct PFMEA and develop control plans to improve process control and product quality.
* Create and maintain detailed process maps with improvement plans to optimize workflow and reduce waste.
* Perform process audits to identify safety, quality, productivity, and compliance improvements.
* Monitor manufacturing data to identify areas for enhancement.
* Collaborate with engineering teams to drive performance improvements.
* Maintain up-to-date Standard Operating Instructions (SOIs) for all processes.
* Implement process control measures, including SPC techniques, to ensure consistency.
* Support the seamless integration of new products and processes into manufacturing.
* Participate in lean initiatives and cross-functional teams to address root causes and implement corrective actions.
* Track and report process KPIs to support continuous improvement.
* Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
* Stay informed about emerging manufacturing technologies and industry best practices.
Additional Responsibilities
* Build strong relationships with value stream teams to improve collaboration.
* Perform other tasks as needed to support business objectives.
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise
* Experience in process engineering within manufacturing environments.
* Proficiency with process engineering tools such as PFMEA.
* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
* Knowledge of process safety, risk assessments, and compliance standards.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
* Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications, including CAD.
* Attention to detail, self-motivated, adaptable, with leadership and mentoring abilities.
