Our work spans geotechnical and geo-environmental engineering, environmental management, planning support and project delivery. We are seeking a Geo-Environmental Engineer to join our clients growing team. The role offers a varied mix of UK-wide site work and office-based reporting, supporting projects at all stages of development. Key Responsibilities Delivery of geo-environmental ground investigations, including organisation, supervision and reporting of monitoring data Supervision of site investigations including, service clearance and site walkovers Soil and rock logging and sampling Foundation inspections & Infiltration testing, gas and groundwater monitoring Landfill gas and groundwater monitoring and sampling Preparation of factual and interpretive geotechnical, contamination and landfill monitoring reports (with senior guidance as required) Support earthworks supervision, remediation works, site validation and visual inspections CQA supervision on landfill sites, including installation of monitoring and leachate wells, liners and restoration layers Undertake design work in accordance with British Standards, Eurocode 7, CIRIA and NHBC guidance Production and coordination of site investigations, reports and health & safety documentation Close collaboration with Graduate Engineers, Technicians and Senior Engineers Liaison with clients, contractors and other professionals, including attendance at meetings as required Contribution to fee proposals where necessary Collaborative working across multiple offices, with occasional short-term travel as required ore Competencies Strong technical capability within geo-environmental and geotechnical engineering Ability to manage time, cost and quality while meeting deadlines Clear, professional verbal and written communication skills Collaborative team player with the ability to support and mentor junior staff Commercial awareness, including understanding of budgets and work in progress Positive, professional attitude with a commitment to quality, safety and development Role Requirements Proficient in soil and rock logging to BS5930, with the ability to support and train junior staff Good understanding of UK geology and hydrology, including interpretation of geological maps and site data Solid experience of site investigation methods and techniques Working knowledge of OpenGround logging software Knowledge of SlopeW or similar geotechnical software Basic CAD skills and GIS knowledge desirable Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, including the ability to sense-check calculations Excellent organisational, planning and reporting skills Full UK driving licence (pool vehicle provided for site work) Qualifications & Experience Degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Engineering Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, Earth Sciences or a related discipline Minimum 2 years' experience within an engineering consultancy or site investigation contractor Benefits Competitive salary, commensurate with experience Company pension scheme Generous annual leave allowance plus bank holidays Paid overtime / TOIL for site work (where applicable) Pool vehicles provided for site visits Support toward professional development and chartership Ongoing training and mentoring from senior engineers Opportunity to work on a diverse range of UK projects Collaborative and inclusive working environment Flexible working arrangements, subject to role requirements Investors in People Gold accredited employer
