Parking Manager Job Description
We are seeking to recruit a Parking Manager to lead a multi-disciplinary team responsible for discharging the City Council’s functions related to managing the Highway Network.
You will manage the parking service within the council’s transport team, adopting a strategic and evidence-based approach to delivery and operational matters, ensuring the council continues to provide a high-quality and critical service.
The role involves leading a team and working closely with colleagues, councillors, and key stakeholders to shape the city’s parking operations and deliver the transport strategy alongside wider corporate objectives.
The post holder will have operational responsibility for functions within the parking team to ensure competent leadership. This includes:
* Championing and guiding staff to engage with and implement appropriate values, vision, strategy, and health and safety guidance to support officers in fulfilling their duties and meeting statutory requirements.
* Providing strong oversight of performance, identifying actions for continuous improvement, and addressing gaps in knowledge, skills, and resources to ensure the team manages its strengths and weaknesses effectively.
* Conducting effective partnership work with the Strategic Development Manager to deliver parking provisions within the city, considering various documents, policies, and strategies employed by the authority.
