The purpose of this role is to be responsible for providing direction to PMO Engineering Operations, Contract PMO resources and early career team members, acting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) within the scope of the Programme Management Office and supporting the Engineering Managers in the following activities Key Responsibilities will include: Your key responsibility is to provide a compliant integrated framework of processes and tools to assist engineering managers with the operational management of their organization to help them meet their objectives. Your role is to direct and allocate PMO Ops and Contractor PMO Resources to help managers achieve their commitments regarding delivery (deliverables, milestones), non-recurring and recurring costs (NRC and RC), Earned Value Management (EVM), Risk Management and quality You must be proficient in the use and configuration of management tools, and in overseeing their use by people in all functions involved in the process, both in specialist roles and as IPT members You are expected to address and report any irregularities with regard to the program and project management reference system You are also expected to make recommendations to ensure continuous process improvement and the deployment of best practices You provide information and recommendations to assist in decision-making regarding programs, projects or business lines and you can be asked to stand in for an Engineering Manager on a temporary basis. In other words, while management, planning, resource allocation, communication of lead times, financial data, risks and opportunities remain the sole responsibility of Engineering Managers you are expected to provide information and advice on these areas in support of Engineering and Programmes
