Location: Barton-Upon-Humber, DN18 5RT | Site Based | Monday to Friday 08:30 - 17:00 | Permanent
Salary: £29,000 - £33,000 depending on experience plus benefits

About the role
As a Quality Systems Technologist you will provide technical expertise to customers, suppliers and throughout the business, advising on legal, safety and quality standards and providing specialist technical support to all functions. You will support the administrative aspect of the Technical Department including day-to-day management and maintenance of some or all of the following: QMS, HACCP, Technical Reports, Non-Conformance Logs, complaints, microbiological & nutritional surveillance; this work includes data entry, trending, information requests, coordination of actions, change management procedures and communicating to relevant parties.
Responsibilities
* Ensuring effective, professional, timely customer communication; contribute to customer audits and visits; communicate relevant information into the relevant governance forums.
* Conducting audits as part of the internal QMS; trend actions and non-conformances; report into relevant forums; work with the Technical management team to ensure compliance with current standards, COP and legislation.
* Working with the team to ensure changes related to launches, delists and promo activities are implemented without disruption and meet deadlines to support the operation teams.
* Deputising and supporting others in the Technical team and being flexible to cover different work; involved in projects as requested.
* Operating in a safe working manner and supporting the site in continuous improvements relating to health and safety.
* Controlling and issuing technical documentation to the factory and ensuring it is up to date and displayed correctly.
About you / Qualifications
* You will have good IT skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office.
* Good interpersonal skills and ability to work within a team as well as on own initiative; keen eye for detail and effective communication.
* Experience in a similar role within the food industry and internal auditing is beneficial but not essential.
* A Level 2 Food Safety/HACCP would be beneficial but not a necessity.
