We are looking for experienced Teaching Assistants for secondary schools across the Wirral, including Birkenhead, Wallasey, and West Kirby. If you have a solid background in classroom support and are ready for a new challenge, we have schools waiting to meet you.
We have roles starting ASAP and for the Summer Term (April). You can choose between flexible daily cover or stable long-term placements.
What you need:
* Proven experience working with children in a school or professional setting.
* A valid DBS on the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
* Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
* Classroom and behaviour management.
Key Duties:
* Support students in small groups to help them reach their learning targets.
* Assist the class teacher with behaviour management and maintaining a calm environment.
* Help students break down instructions and stay focused on their set tasks.
* Lead small group sessions to boost progress in core subjects like English and Maths.
* Act as a reader or scribe for students during assessments and mock exams.
* Assist the teacher with classroom preparation and organisation.
* Ensure a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment for all pupils.
* Provide a brief handover to the teacher regarding student progress during the lesson.
