The Governors of King’s Bruton are looking to appoint a dynamic and imaginative Head who will build upon the successful progress made over the past fourteen years by Ian Wilmshurst and drive the School forward in the next stage of its development. The successful candidate will work with the Governors to develop a clear strategic vision for the future of the School based around its established Christian ethos, values and aims.
King’s Bruton, founded in the 16th century, is in the centre of a glorious country town in one of the most beautiful parts of Somerset. It is the senior school in the Foundation, which also includes Hazlegrove and Sunny Hill Nursery.
This appointment is a great opportunity for an existing or aspiring Head to make a lasting impact on this vibrant, happy School of 350 pupils, which seeks, above all, to prepare confident and independent young people to adapt and succeed in an ever-changing world.
The new Head of King’s Bruton will be expected to embrace and personify the School’s core values of being respectful, loyal and driven to excel. They will also be a champion of diversity and fairness and will be able to demonstrate real pride in being the public face of King’s Bruton in the wider community.
First-class communication skills, a passion for education and the flexibility to adapt to a fast-changing educational landscape will be crucial. The successful applicant will be a strategic thinker with the ability to inspire and enthuse, to be both sensitive and firm in direction and to be a leader with business acumen and stamina.
