About the job:
The Marine Trading Manager will primarily engage with brokers, clients, and industry peers to drive growth strategies, manage portfolios, and develop new business channels. Responsibilities include training junior staff, providing thought leadership, and fostering a strong team ethos.
You will have opportunities to enhance your technical skills and knowledge. Success will be measured by pipeline delivery, GWP and profit growth, client and intermediary trust, and team collaboration.
Accountabilities include:
* Ensuring business aligns with plan targets for Marine insurance.
* Achieving growth in volume, quality, and profitability of opportunities.
* Building and maintaining relationships with brokers and clients.
* Managing risks and meeting targets for GWP, NWP, Loss Ratio, Expense Ratio, and Combined Ratio.
* Making sound judgments to ensure strategic and governance compliance.
Desired skills and experience:
* Strong underwriting experience in cargo and freight liability risks.
* Proven ability to manage an underwriting portfolio and monitor key metrics.
* Excellent relationship-building and opportunity development skills.
* Confident negotiation and communication skills.
* Results-driven with effective planning and prioritization abilities.
