Job overview
To provide a delivery and collection service of stores, pharmacy, post, medical records, and any other items agreed with the line manager around the hospital and the satellite sites. On occasions it may be requested to carry out collections and delivery of stores from General Practices, General Dental Practices, local hospitals, community hospitals and any other areas required.
Duties also include providing the cross-site minibus service for staff, patients, and Trust members.
Main duties of the job
1. OPERATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Collection and delivery of post, general stores, supplies, stationery, and equipment (Non-IT / Medical Equipment). Pharmacy supplies, patients note, etc. from all sites associated with the Trust.
Collection and pick-up of Trust employees, visitors or persons who require transportation to meet operational needs for or on behalf of King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
Perform administrative tasks by keeping accurate daily work logs in relation to goods transported and vehicles used to include any accident forms that will have to be completed.
Ensure the vehicle is safe and roadworthy by doing a daily inspection of fuel, water, oil, tyres, lights, and any fluid leaks etc. The vehicles must be regularly kept clean and refuelled Weekly using the fuel card supplied and return the receipt to the transport department. Follow the transport department guidance on breakdowns and reporting accidents.
Portray a professional, polite, and courteous approach as representatives of King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
Provide cover on any other route as and when required.
Undertake any other duties as are determined by the needs of the department.
To use analytical and judgemental skills to always carry out duties efficiently.
