Overview

We are seeking to appoint a Cover Supervisor to support high-quality teaching and learning by supervising classes during the absence of the classroom teacher. You will help to maintain a positive learning environment, ensuring that pupils remain engaged and productive.


Responsibilities

* Supervising pupils in lessons, ensuring set work is completed and behaviour expectations are maintained.
* Registering attendance and managing classroom routines.
* Collecting and returning completed work to teachers, providing feedback as required.
* Establishing positive relationships with pupils, promoting inclusion, respect, and responsibility.
* Supporting the wider school by covering form time, seclusion, and duties when needed.
* Working with the Cover Manager to organise staff absence cover and liaising with supply agencies.
* Assisting with administrative support, invigilation, and whole-school activities as required.

Qualifications and experience

* Numeracy and literacy skills to GCSE standard (or equivalent).
* Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to relate to people at all levels.
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
* Experience of using ICT applications (e.g. Word, Excel, email, databases).
* The ability to manage pupils in a classroom setting.
* Experience of working in an educational environment, knowledge of SIMS, and an understanding of statutory attendance policies would be an advantage.
