An exciting job opportunity for a committed Forensic or General Adult Consultant Psychiatrist to work in an exceptional mental health hospital based in Warrington, Cheshire. The hospital provides care and treatment for adult women in medium and low secure environments for Personality Disorder and Mental Health conditions.
Qualifications
To be considered for this position you must hold a Full GMC Registration.
Key Responsibilities
* Taking clinical responsibility for patients, including multidisciplinary ward rounds, risk reviews, strategic reviews and development of a therapeutic milieu.
* Acting as Responsible Clinician to patients detained under the Mental Health Act 1983.
* Offering a psychiatric perspective to the multidisciplinary team in relation to assessment, formulation and treatment of patients.
* Contributing to management meetings and clinical governance meetings for the services and developing service strategy.
* Contributing to in‑house training programmes and offering supervision to junior medical staff.
* Maintaining CPD and revalidation requirements as determined by the Royal College of Psychiatrists or other statutory bodies.
Preferred Skills & Experience
* Innovative and imaginative with ability to initiate corporate decisions.
* Strong understanding of current developments in psychiatry and mental health.
* Substantial knowledge of change management, relevant legislation and contemporary issues in mental health, and experience with purchaser/provider contractual issues.
* Previous Consultant experience in a management role.

Salary: £154,000 per annum. Permanent full‑time role, 37.5 hours a week.
