Job Summary
An opportunity has arisen for additional nurse practitioners to further develop our streaming and navigation service at the Northumbria Emergency Care Hospital in Cramlington Front Door Service. We are looking for experienced nurse practitioners who also have experience in minor injury/illness and major illness skills and can work alongside Consultants, General Practitioners, nurse practitioners, staff nurses and healthcare assistants in our Urgent Treatment Centres. We are looking for an autonomous practitioner who is happy to work independently treating a varied group of patients. We promote a culture of inclusive leadership and are keen to continually develop our staff.

Main duties of the job
* Apply advanced knowledge and skills during management and provision of patient care within defined parameters.
* Support the Department Manager in accountability of the department, staff, pay and non-pay budget.
* Independently triage, assess, plan, implement and evaluate programmes of care in partnership with the patient and multidisciplinary team.
* Discharge patients or refer to appropriate department (Streaming & Navigation).
* Promote health with all patients and carers.
* Responsibly organise and coordinate nursing services in absence of senior nurses.
* Deliver governance standards in line with the 'Essence of Care Standards' and the Trust's Governance framework.
* Ensure delivery of 'Compassion in Practice' - Nursing.
* Support Midwifery and Care Staff Vision and Strategy, incorporating the 6C's.
* Work within Trust Patient Group Directions.
* Practice within Emergency Nurse Practitioner Policies.

Job responsibilities
* Assume responsibility for assessment of care needs, implementation of evidence based programmes of care after examination, investigation and diagnoses, providing accurate treatment.
* Supervise, support and educate junior nurses and medical staff.
* Exercise accountability as set out in the NMC Code of Professional Conduct.
* Be responsible for all nursing care standards and maintain high clinical standards.

Essential Qualifications
* 1st Level Registered Nurse / HCPC Registered / AHP
* Registered Mentor / ENB 998 or PP126/127
* Teaching certificate 998/997 PP 122/123 or 7307 with teaching experience or equivalent
* Diploma in nursing/health related subject - working towards degree
* ENB 199 or University equivalents
* Emergency Nurse Practitioner Course or equivalent experience
* IRMER Course
* Clinical Skills Qualification or equivalent
* Non-Medical prescribing course
Desirable Qualifications
* ACLS/PALS Course
Essential Experience
* Substantial post registration experience
