Project Manager - Job Specification Job Title Project Manager Overview We’re hiring an experienced Project Manager to lead civil engineering projects from cradle to completion. You’ll drive safe, timely and commercially sound delivery across multi-discipline sites while keeping clients and the team smiling. Key Responsibilities • Health, Safety & Environment: Champion health and safety on every project and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and procedures. • Project Planning & Delivery: Create, maintain and own project programmes, budgets, resourcing plans and risk registers. Deliver projects on time, to quality and within an agreed budget. • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor and coordinate engineers, site staff, subcontractors and consultants to create a high performing delivery team. • Stakeholder Management: Maintain strong relationships with clients, local authorities, suppliers and internal stakeholders through clear, professional communication. • Commercial & Cost Control: Work with commercial colleagues to manage costs, forecasts and change; identify opportunities for efficiency and cost saving. • Risk & Quality Management: Identify, assess and mitigate risks; implement quality control checks and site inspections. • Contract Administration: Oversee the execution and compliance of subcontract and supply contracts, ensuring contractual obligations are met. • Reporting & Documentation: Produce regular progress reports, financial updates, programmes and handover documentation. Qualifications & Experience • Minimum HNC in Civil Engineering or equivalent. • CSCS Manager / Professionally Qualified card (or equivalent). NVQ Level 6 or similar is desirable. • SMSTS (minimum) with demonstrable CPD in health and safety. • Proven track record delivering civils or groundworks projects as a Project Manager or Senior Site Manager. • Competent with Microsoft Office 365 and MS Project. • Familiarity with NEC3/NEC4 (advantageous) and sound commercial awareness. • Strong leadership, communication and negotiation skills.
