Cable Route Engineer - Offshore & Subsea Projects (Glasgow)
An exciting opportunity has opened within a UK-based marine geoscience team for an ambitious Cable Route Engineer to play a leading role in offshore cable projects across renewables, interconnections, and telecommunications. This is an exciting opportunity to join a multinational tier one contractor, delivering large, complex, cutting-edge projects.The role sits within a specialist marine geo-team made up of geophysicists, geotechnical engineers, engineering geologists, and geomorphologists. The successful candidate will act as Technical Lead for offshore cable routing scopes, delivering GIS-based route analysis and Cable Burial Risk Assessments (CBRA), while mentoring junior team members and helping shape the future direction of cable routing capability.This position offers a mix of hands-on technical delivery and strategic input, including developing new methodologies, supporting bids, contributing to business development, and presenting capability to key clients. Offshore cable routing is inherently multi-disciplinary, and applications are welcomed from professionals with backgrounds in geospatial consultancy, subsea engineering, geotechnical engineering, or engineering geology.The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background in geoscience, GIS, or subsea engineering, alongside industry experience in offshore cable routing using tools.
