Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Transport Planner to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing efficient transport strategies, ensuring the smooth movement of goods and services while optimising costs. This role requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a comprehensive understanding of logistics and supply chain management.
Duties
* Develop and implement transport plans that align with organisational goals and customer requirements.
* Coordinate with various departments to ensure timely delivery of goods.
* Analyse transportation data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
* Manage relationships with suppliers, carriers, and other stakeholders to enhance service delivery.
* Utilise Microsoft Office tools, including Excel and Word, for reporting and documentation purposes.
* Maintain accurate records of transport activities and prepare reports for management review.
* Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and safety standards in all transport operations.
* Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
* Lead projects related to logistics improvements and contribute to strategic planning initiatives.
Qualifications
* Proven experience in transport planning or a related field is desirable.
* Strong knowledge of logistics, supply chain management, and transportation regulations.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) is essential for data analysis and reporting.
* Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
* Demonstrated leadership capabilities with a focus on team collaboration.
* High level of computer literacy with the ability to adapt to new IT systems quickly.
