The Surveyor is responsible for the technical and proactive management of an insurance loss.

Key Responsibilities
14. Attendance at surveys throughout the UK – liaising with clients/other surveyors to arrange and attend surveys involving the movement of cargo by road. air, rail or sea (including warehousing).Recording all information necessary to progress claim, and preserving all relevant evidence.
15. Report Writing and Communication with clients – keeping clients updated, dealing with brokers, insurers and corporate clients as necessary
16. Claims adjustment – collating evidence and establishing quantum
17. Desk top Claims Handling and Adjustment – handling claims based upon papers alone, establishing liability and quantum, making recommendations to clients
18. Instructing and overseeing overseas surveyors – acting as focal point for client, ensuring reports received are readable and contain all pertinent information
19. Maintaining tight diary system - preserving time bars, and generally protecting client’s position
20. Management of client accounts – where required, ensuring compliance with specific account programmes and instructions
21. Day to day management of junior surveyors
22. Mentoring of junior surveyors
23. Maintenance of Client Computer Systems – adding data/documentation to ensure MI is kept up to date
24. Risk management advice – assisting clients with claims prevention and efficient logistics operations
25. Business Development – building and maintaining good working relationships with clients. Optimizing all potential business opportunities – encouraging other team members to raise their profile and market the business
