Overview

Closing Date: 9am on 10 September 2025. Start Date: as soon as possible. Salary: £33.58 per hour (£29.96 plus £3.62 holiday pay).

The Prospect Trust is a leading Multi-Academy Trust in the South of England, with an aim of providing outstanding education for all learners within a family of local academies. There are currently three academies within the Trust: The Sixth Form College Farnborough, Tomlinscote School and Frimley Church of England Junior School. The College will, as one of the region's most distinguished providers of 16-19 education, be at the heart of this undertaking sharing expertise, skill and leadership. We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and well-qualified graduate able to teach singing lessons to students focusing on singing predominantly in a classical style. There are currently 2 hours of teaching available with the view to expanding the amount of hours in September.

Key strengths are: Achievement of high grades with excellent value added; Outstanding teaching by a team of experienced and motivated staff; Exceptional levels of support for students both inside and outside of lessons; Innovative use of IT to promote learning embedded as a regular part of normal teaching.


Responsibilities

* Teach singing predominantly in a classical style to students, contributing to the Music curriculum area.
* Work with the Music department, which includes Eduqas Music A level, Edexcel BTEC Music Performance, and Edexcel Music Technology, to support over 150 students and collaborate with 13 specialist instrumental/vocal teachers.
* Demonstrate a thoughtful and self-reflective approach to pedagogy and employ a variety of teaching methods suitable for a wide range of abilities and experiences.
* Develop students' literacy and numeracy skills as an integral part of teaching.
* Be flexible, innovative, and willing to meet challenges in a dynamic educational environment.


Qualifications and qualities

* Desire to be an outstanding practitioner of classical singing with excellent performance and theoretical knowledge.
* Ability to teach a range of methods and adapt to students of varying abilities and backgrounds.
* Enthusiasm for working with 16–19 year old students and a passion for voice work.
* Aself-reflective approach to pedagogy and commitment to continuing professional development.
