About the Role

We are recruiting for a Systems Engineer to be based out of our Ampthill offices. This role will suit an individual who has gained academic studies in a related discipline (. Bachelors / Masters in Systems Engineering, Aerospace, Electrical / Electronic, Engineering), that has now been backed up with 1-2 years experience as a Systems Engineer.

The Systems Engineer will report to the Systems Functional Manager and will receive their tasking from the Programme Chief Engineers. Specific role scope will be subject to assigned programme but will include a range of systems engineering activities:

1. Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE): concept, requirements, architecture and interface definition.
2. Modelling and Simulation (M&S): application of a range of tools for concept assessment and system/algorithm development.
3. System and Subsystem requirements management and development.
4. Verification: Test and trials scripts, planning / attendance, acceptance, certification.
5. Documentation: Trade Studies, Data Analysis, Design Review Artefacts.

Required skills, qualifications and experience

6. We are looking for engineers with relevant higher level qualifications (. Bachelors / Masters in Systems Engineering, Aerospace, Electrical / Electronic, Engineering).
7. Candidates would ideally have higher level academic or industrial experience in Systems Engineering
8. Relevant experience of the engineering development lifecycle.
9. Experience / understanding of MBSE as applied to various programme lifecycle stages.
10. Be able to multi-task: candidate will be required to lead and coordinate on work-packages, potentially across multiple programmes.
11. Strong communication skills required to liaise with Senior Stakeholders both within the company and customers.
12. Suitable candidates may have performed some of the following systems activities:
Requirements derivation.
Trade study definition and delivery.
Definition and monitoring of Technical KPIs.
System architecture and sub-system derivation.
Experience in varied architecture frameworks / methodologies.
Sequence/Activity/Use case Diagrams.
Interface Definitions (ICDs and IDLs).
Data Distribution Systems and Data Links.
M&S studies such as Computational Fluid Dynamics, trajectory modelling, Finite Element Analysis or the application of complex algorithms to engineering challenges.
Candidates will benefit from:
Experience in working in a classified setting.
Experience in SysML/UML using CAMEO, Rhapsody.
IBM Jazz (DOORS-NG and Test-Manager/Quality-Manager).
Experience in Matlab & Simulink.
AI/ML Tools and techniques.
Experience of working with Software teams and developments (. Agility, Sprints, Kanbans).
Using collaborative teamworking tools (sharepoint, JIRA, Confluence).
