About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Frontend Web Developer to join our Digital Platforms & Software Engineering team. You will play a key role in building and maintaining high-quality, scalable, and engaging digital experiences using React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and SCSS across our Corporate, Deposit and Local Market websites as well as internal applications.
This role offers the opportunity to work with modern technologies and enterprise platforms, including Microsoft Azure Cloud, Azure DevOps, and Optimizely CMS/DXP, while collaborating closely with our UI/UX designer, Backend Developers, Testers, Project Managers and the wider business.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and maintain responsive, accessible, and high-performing user interfaces using HTML, CSS, SCSS, React, TypeScript, and JavaScript (ES6+)
* Build and optimise applications integrated with Optimizely CMS/DXP
* Close collaboration UI/UX, Developers, Testers and others to deliver high-quality features
* Work within an Azure Cloud environment and contribute to CI/CD pipelines via Azure DevOps
* Ensure frontend solutions meet performance, scalability, security and accessibility standards
* Participate in code reviews, ensuring best practices and clean, maintainable code
* Stay current with evolving frontend technologies and recommend improvements
Skills & Experience
Essential:
* Strong verbal and written communication
* Strong experience in HTML5, CSS3, SCSS, JavaScript (ES6+), and TypeScript
* Hands-on experience with React (Hooks, state management, component-driven development)
* Proven ability to deliver responsive, cross-browser, and mobile-first applications
* Familiarity with Azure development environments
* Experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines, ideally Azure DevOps
* Strong debugging, problem-solving, and collaboration skills
Desirable:
* Experience with Optimizely CMS/DXP or similar CMS/DXP platforms
* Knowledge of or other React frameworks
* Understanding of accessibility standards (EU) and performance optimisation
* Familiarity with testing frameworks
* Exposure to Agile methodologies
