First Line Risk Lead – Customer & Commercial

Your Responsibilities
This role will lead first line risk and compliance for the Customer and Commercial function (including trading, retail proposition, digital, brand, and marketing). As a member of the senior leadership team, you will work closely with senior leaders in their respective accountabilities.
You will be key in developing and maintaining oversight of our governance processes to ensure our activity and initiatives deliver good customer outcomes, are aligned to our strategic priorities, and fall within our conduct risk appetite.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop, implement, and maintain a consistent approach to good governance within the Customer and Commercial function.
* Be the first point of contact for advice on regulatory and legal issues, governance processes, and best practices.
* Monitor and develop policies and processes to ensure ongoing good governance and business practices.
* Lead the implementation of the company's Risk Management Framework (RMF).
* Oversee risk identification, assessment, monitoring, and reporting processes.
* Lead risk and control self-assessment (RCSA) processes.
* Develop and manage Key Risk Indicators (KRI).
* Embed a risk-aware culture across the function.
* Collaborate with other functions like Risk, Compliance, and Internal Audit.
* Promote good customer outcomes across the business.
Who are you:
You will have a proven track record in governance or internal audit roles, with experience in fast-paced environments. Strong influencing, relationship skills, and strategic focus are essential.
* Knowledge of: Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD), FCA Handbooks (PROD, SYSC, PRIN, DISP), and industry regulations.
* Experience with insurance products (home, car, pet preferred).
* Ability to analyze data and interpret it effectively.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Ability to prioritize and manage workload effectively.
* Understanding of FCA regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
