Community Staff Nurse
The closing date is 27 May 2025
An opportunity has become available to join the Ulverston District Nurses as a registered nurse. This is a close and supportive team that pride themselves on delivering a high standard of person-centred care to the residents of Dalton and surrounding villages.
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic team player who shares the same passion and drive to care for people in their own homes to a high standard.
The post is 22.5 hours a week over 3 days and includes weekends and bank holidays. The role may also involve working evenings and potential nights as part of the Furness out-of-hours team, operating 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work as a registered Nurse within Community Services, responsible for providing evidence-based, holistic nursing care to patients.
You will support the Sister/Team Leader in leading the team, supervising, directing staff, and delegating workload according to staff skills.
The Ulverston team comprises full and part-time nurses and a healthcare support worker, managed daily by the Assistant Team Leads and supported by the Team Lead.
About us
We operate from three main hospitals: Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, along with community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.
FGH and RLI offer a range of general hospital services, including Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units, and various consultant-led services.
WGH provides general hospital services, an Urgent Treatment Centre, and handles non-life-threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.
All hospitals provide planned care services, including outpatient clinics, diagnostics, therapies, day-case, and inpatient surgery, alongside local outreach services and diagnostics across Morecambe Bay.
