Paediatric Junior Sister / Charge Nurse - Emergency Department

We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse to join our experienced paediatric nursing team.
After a recent staffing review, we are pleased to announce we are expanding our workforce.
Do you have significant experience as a paediatric staff nurse? Do you have evidence of continuing professional development within Paediatric Emergency Department nursing? Main duties of the job
Main duties and responsibilities:
1. Patient Care Responsibilities
2. Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate programmes of care within the framework of team nursing, including the Named Nurse initiative.
3. Coordinate patients' discharge arrangements in accordance with RUH Discharge Policy, involving other agencies as necessary.
4. Promote a patient-focused approach to care in collaboration with all relevant health professionals.
5. Perform safe practice in various situations, integrating theory and practice.
6. Educate patients and carers as needed.
7. Provide information to help patients make healthier lifestyle choices.
8. Ensure all clinical documentation is completed accurately by the nursing team.
9. Maintain a safe department environment.
10. Assist in establishing and monitoring protocols and care pathways.
11. Promote effective communication within the department.
12. Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure staff understand its importance.
13. Supervise junior staff in care delivery through monitoring, mentoring, clinical supervision, and reflective practice.

Person Specification
Knowledge
* Relevant clinical experience at Band 5
* Up-to-date knowledge of nursing theory and best practices, especially in the specialty area
Qualifications and Training
* Registered Nurse RSCN/RN Child
* State Registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council
* Emergency Care qualification or equivalent experience
* Evidence of ongoing professional development
* Teaching qualification
* Post-registration training (e.g., APLS, PALS, TNCC/ATLS)
* Management/HR training
* Diploma or Degree in relevant area
