About the Role:
To support our business growth, we are looking for a Ground Investigator or General Builder to perform test digs prior to building conservatories or extensions, maintain historic builds, and assist the building manager with other duties across sites in the region. Responsibilities include:
* Dig pilot holes to confirm ground conditions, report results with photos and detailed findings
* Assess soil/site ground makeup, suitability, and advise if piling is required
* Point, lay flags/chippings, screed, and patch floors
* Identify and check existing drainage runs and report findings
* Locate and report any site issues affecting construction, such as trees (type, size, distance from foundations)
* Leave work sites tidy, restoring surrounding areas to their original condition
* Arrange appointments with customers and coordinate test digs with the Building Manager
* Attend historic build corrections as directed by the Building Manager
What we are looking for:
This role is suitable for a General Builder or Ground Worker seeking a full-time position. Required experience includes:
* Previous construction industry experience and knowledge
* Experience in ground works and foundations
* Meticulous, organized, with attention to detail
* Effective time management and prioritization skills
* Strong understanding of Health and Safety regulations on site
* Driving Licence
* Willingness to travel throughout the North West
