Quality Engineering ManagerCoatbridge, Lanarkshire | Aerospace, Defence & SpacePermanent | Senior Leadership RoleLead Quality in a Business Where Engineering Integrity Is EverythingWe are partnering with a highly advanced aerospace and defence manufacturing organisation to appoint a Quality Engineering Manager to lead its Quality function across complex, mission-critical products and manufacturing operations.This is a senior leadership opportunity within a technically demanding environment where precision, compliance, and reliability are fundamental to success.The business operates at the forefront of aerospace, defence, and space technology, delivering highly engineered products used in critical applications where failure is simply not an option.This role offers the opportunity to shape quality strategy, influence operational performance, and drive continuous improvement across a growing engineering organisation.The OpportunityAs Quality Engineering Manager, you will lead the Quality Engineering team and take ownership of the organisations AS9100 and ISO9001 Quality Management Systems, ensuring the highest standards of product and process quality are achieved across the business.You will work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Customers, and Regulatory Bodies to drive compliance, improve capability, reduce risk, and strengthen operational performance.This is a role with genuine influence and visibility ideal for an experienced Quality leader who enjoys combining strategic leadership with hands-on operational impact.What Youll Be Doing Leading and developing a high-performing Quality Engineering teamOwning and continuously improving the AS9100 / ISO9001 Quality Management SystemDriving a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement across the businessLeading internal, supplier, customer, and certification auditsManaging non-conformance activities, root cause investigations, and corrective actionsSupporting First Article Inspection (FAI), product surveillance, and product acceptance activitiesDriving improvements in manufacturing quality, process capability, and operational performanceSupporting engineering change management and configuration control activitiesWorking closely with customers and suppliers to resolve quality-related issuesAnalysing quality KPIs and implementing improvement strategiesApplying advanced quality methodologies, including: PFMEA / PFMECA8DSix SigmaMSARisk management techniquesWhat Were Looking ForWere looking for an experienced Quality Engineering leader with a strong background within aerospace, defence, space, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.You will bring:Degree qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing, Science, or related disciplineSignificant experience in Quality Engineering leadership rolesStrong working knowledge of AS9100 / ISO9001 Quality SystemsExperience leading audits, compliance activities, and customer quality engagementsStrong understanding of: Root cause analysisRisk managementConfiguration controlEngineering change managementManufacturing quality systemsExperience developing and leading Quality Engineering teamsExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsDesirable Lead Auditor qualificationSix Sigma certificationExperience within aerospace, defence, or space manufacturingKnowledge of electro-mechanical, battery, or complex engineered productsWhy Join?
