Overview
We are looking to recruit motivated, caring, compassionate individuals for the role of Apprentice Healthcare Support Workers. The Apprenticeship programme offers a full time 18 months fixed term contract which in most cases leads to a permanent position with Calderdale & Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust.
Eligibility and Qualifications
* Applicants must be aged 18 or over on date of starting and have lived in the UK for 3 years prior to enrolment.
* Have a genuine interest in caring for people and be able to demonstrate this within the application.
* You must not hold a degree, level four qualification or above in a health-related subject.
* You must not have significant Healthcare Experience.
* You will be required to undertake Healthcare Support Worker Apprenticeship Care Certificate BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Care.
* Candidates must also hold English and Maths GCSE at grades 9-1 / A.
* GCSE grade G or equivalent and be able to demonstrate these qualifications at interview by presenting valid certificates. Without formal proof you will not be eligible to commence the apprenticeship.
Training and Requirements
* We are recruiting to a Cohort planned to start in June 2025; therefore applicants must be able to clear employment promptly.
* You must have the ability to work under pressure.
* You will need to possess excellent communication skills and must have a genuine interest in caring for people.
* You will be required to work in clinical areas as a member of the team to deliver care to patients.
* There is an eligibility criterion for government-funded apprenticeships schemes that applies and therefore applicants must be aged 18 or over and have been resident in the UK/EU for the last three years.
* You must not hold a degree, level four qualification or above in a health-related subject.

Please be aware that you could be allocated to Calderdale Royal Hospital or Huddersfield Royal Infirmary. If you have a particular preference, please notify us at interview.
