IT Systems & Network Engineer - Onsite - Tamworth

Salary up to £60,000 DOE
We seek a skilled Network Systems Engineer with experience in virtualization, Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, MS Azure, Exchange Online/O365 configuration & troubleshooting. Experience with Dell/EMC SANs, SonicWall, and network monitoring and configuration is required. The role involves managing the network's daily operations, support, and troubleshooting in a high-volume environment. You should have experience planning and implementing software upgrades and resolving issues both remotely and onsite. Your expertise in cloud solutions and virtualization will be vital, along with your ability to work with complex systems and coordinate with other technical staff.
Key Responsibilities:
* Configure and manage Microsoft Windows domain and Hyper-V virtualization environments.
* Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for Windows virtualization, Active Directory, and Windows Server administration.
* Diagnose and troubleshoot virtualization issues, including Microsoft and Linux OS.
* Evaluate and oversee system upgrades and product appropriateness.
* Maintain Dell server environments across multiple locations.
* Provide 3rd Level support to Helpdesk engineers.
* Lead design, implementation, and maintenance of complex solutions, coordinating with technical teams.
* Develop system standards and performance recommendations.
* Conduct capacity planning and approve capacity plans.
* Manage support patches and updates frequency.
* Monitor backups and network uptime; provide recommendations.
* Coordinate with third-party vendors for support and procurement.
* Plan and estimate projects involving system administration solutions.
* Design and implement secure systems, policies, and procedures; provide technical guidance.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
* Extensive experience with Microsoft Windows, Hyper-V, and SAN environments.
* IT security protocols, cybersecurity measures, and network defense strategies.
* Security compliance and risk management expertise.
* Project management skills.
* Active Directory experience.
* Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Planning (DR/BCP).
* Network data center expertise.
* PowerShell scripting and automation skills.
* Database administration skills (MS SQL, MySQL) are a plus.
* Customer service excellence.
* Strong troubleshooting, organizational, decision-making, and analytical skills.
* Self-motivated with good time management.
* Flexibility to handle multiple demands and work hours.
* GDPR knowledge.
* Excellent communication skills, able to explain technical issues to non-technical audiences.
* Willingness to travel for installations or upgrades.
