Overview
An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated senior cancer nurse who is passionate about metastatic breast cancer to support metastatic breast cancer patients attending Frimley Park hospital. The successful candidate may be required to work cross site.
Applications for this post are invited from experienced nurses who have had extensive experience in breast oncology, SACT and palliative care. Previous experience of a specialist nursing post at Band 7 level is essential. We are looking for a dynamic, forward thinking individual who is a leader, flexible, self-motivated, reliable and a good team player. You should also be educated to degree level and willing to work towards Masters level.
The post holder should be willing to develop their academic and clinical practice and be committed to continuing education. You should have advanced communication skills and experience of managing a caseload of patients.
Main duties
* The post-holder will act as Keyworker and advocate for metastatic breast cancer patients, providing a link between patients and health care professionals across primary, secondary and tertiary care.
* The post-holder will continually develop, implement and evaluate the Metastatic Breast Cancer Service to maintain and improve high standards of patient care and promote a seamless service within a multi-professional framework
* The post-holder will be a clinical expert in breast cancer and palliative care, with excellent communication skills.
* The role requires the ability to work autonomously and independently but within an integrated collaborative team.
* The post-holder will establish services with the aim of providing support and early referral to associated services for metastatic breast cancer patients, to include those undergoing cancer treatments

Qualifications
Essential criteria
* Degree in nursing and current NMC registration
* Breast/oncology qualification
* Palliative care qualification
* SACT qualification
* Teaching or mentorship qualification
* Masters level qualification or working towards
* Advanced communication or counselling skills training
* Level 2 psychology training
* Project management qualification e.g. White Belt Training
Desirable criteria
* Physical Assessment or working towards
* NMP qualification or working towards
* Advanced project management qualification or working towards e.g. Yellow Belt Training
Skills/Competencies
