Accounting and Financial Operations Specialist
The role of an Accounting and Financial Operations Specialist is crucial in maintaining the financial health and stability of any organization. In this position, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day finance functions, including accounts payable, payroll, reconciliations, and management reporting.
To excel in this role, you will need to have a solid understanding of core accounting principles and be confident in your ability to work independently. Experience in the media/advertising industry is highly desirable, but not essential.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage Accounts Payable and Receivable Processes: Ensure timely payment of invoices and accurate reconciliation of accounts receivable.
* Reconcile Management Accounts, P&L, Balance Sheets, and Cash Flow: Identify and resolve any discrepancies or errors in financial records.
* Process Payroll and Manage Pension Contributions: Ensure accurate and timely processing of employee salaries and pension contributions.
* Handle Accruals and Prepayments: Accurately record and reconcile accruals and prepayments to ensure compliance with financial regulations.
* Maintain Accurate Financial Records and Documentation: Ensure all financial records are up-to-date, accurate, and compliant with regulatory requirements.
* Prepare Financial Reports for Internal Stakeholders: Provide regular financial reports to stakeholders to inform business decisions.
* Assist with Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement budgets and forecasts.
* Ensure Compliance with Internal Financial Controls and HMRC Regulations: Implement and maintain effective internal controls to prevent financial mismanagement and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
* Liaise with External Accountants, Suppliers, and Internal Teams: Communicate effectively with external accountants, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure seamless financial operations.
Requirements
* AAT Level 4 Qualification: A minimum requirement for this role is a recognized accounting qualification, such as AAT Level 4.
* Proven Experience Working with Xero and CRM Systems: Demonstrate expertise in using Xero and CRM systems to manage financial operations.
* Demonstrated Competency: Showcase proficiency in areas such as accruals and prepayments, reconciliation of management accounts, P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reporting, payroll processing, invoicing, and payables.
* Previous Experience in a Finance/Accounts Assistant Role: Highlight previous experience working in a finance/accounts assistant role to demonstrate relevant skills and knowledge.
* Strong Excel/Sheets and General IT Skills: Showcase proficiency in using Microsoft Excel/Sheets and other general IT skills to support financial operations.
* Excellent Attention to Detail and Organizational Skills: Demonstrate attention to detail and organizational skills to ensure accuracy and efficiency in financial operations.
* Comfortable Working Independently and Prioritizing Tasks: Showcase ability to work independently and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and deliver results.
* Media/Advertising Industry Experience Preferred: While not essential, experience in the media/advertising industry is highly desirable.
