Job summary We are advertising an exciting opportunity for 2 Deputy Divisional General Managers to join us within the Clinical Support, Therapies & Outpatients Division and the Surgery, Anaesthetics & Critical Care Division. The overriding purpose is to support the provision of the highest quality, safe patient care through professional, operational, and strategic leadership and management actions creating a culture of continuous improvement in accordance with NHS management standards. The post holds management responsibility for the operational and performance management of the Division, on behalf of the Divisional General Manager. This post is responsible for ensuring that all services are focussed on ensuring the most effective and efficient use of resources to deliver a high quality service that achieves and exceeds the required performance targets. There is also an explicit requirement for this post holder to deputise for the Divisional General Manager, across all service lines in the Division, and to act as the divisional lead for cross divisional issues and projects as required, in agreement with the Divisional General Manager and Clinical Chair. Main duties of the job Clinical Support, Therapies and Outpatients (CSTO) Division The division is entering an exciting time with a number of ongoing and innovative projects. The pathology LIMS system will be a joint procurement with Nottingham University Hospitals, opening the door to further cross-county cooperation which we are managing via a Joint Pathology Board. A business case for three new MRI scanners and a fluoroscopic suite in Radiology represents the largest single expansion of imaging capacity the department has ever seen. A trust-wide Outpatient Transformation Programme is reviewing what the future of the service may look like. Alongside Pharmacy, Radiology, Pathology and Outpatients, our other services include medical photography, the faith centre, therapies, medical records, clinical engineering and sexual health services. Surgery, Anaesthetics & Critical Care Division The Division of Surgery, Anaesthetics and Critical Care puts patient safety and patient experience at the heart of everything we do whilst providing outstanding care to the local population requiring planned care and surgical interventions.The Division has responsibility for 8 Surgical Specialties as well as Anaesthetics, Theatres, Critical Care and Decontamination Services with a total budget of around £85m and a workforce in excess of 1100 staff. Across the organisation we have an expansive footprint made up of 15 operating theatres, 130 base ward beds across Surgical Day Case Unit, 15 bedded ITU & Surgical SDEC.
