Job title: Finance Officer
Reporting to: Operations and Development Manager
Hours: 15 hours per week (2 days) with a potential increase to 3 days in the future, dependent on funding.
Salary: £30,000 pro rata, actual salary £12,000 per annum
Annual Leave: 28 days plus bank holidays pro rata

We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to join our small busy team.The ideal person will be proficient in accounting software such as Xero and will be experienced in keeping accurate financial records. You should align with our organisational values, be friendly, motivated, use initiative, and be able to work well as part of a small and friendly, but busy team.
Job Description
Skills and Qualifications:
·Ideally be qualified to/or working towards AAT Level 3 or above, or have demonstrable relevant experience
·Proficiency in accounting software e.g. Xero
·Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
·Good organisational and communication skills
·Bookkeeping qualification desirable
Duties and Responsibilities:
·Prepare internal bookkeeping ready for accounts preparation. Working with our accountants to deliver year-end accounts.
·Reviewing accounting procedures on a regular basis to ensure they are efficient and comply with all the relevant accounting standards best practice.
·Working with the Operations and Development Manager and Financial Director on financial forecasts and annual budgets as part of the organisational business plan.
·Supporting applications for grant funding and running the financial management of grants received.
·Have a good understanding of working with numerous income streams and the allocation of these to support accurate management reporting and forecasting.
·Carry out the day-to-day Bookkeeping preparation using Xero and Excel.
·Bank Reconciliation using Xero.
·Working with our external Payroll systems, checking payroll and paying staff monthly.
·Purchase and sales ledgers through Xero.
·Paying suppliers
·Maintaining Bank Accounts
·Processing expenses.
·Financial Management reporting to the Board and Operations Manager: support monthly financial reports (P&L, cashflow, Balance sheet)
·Meet financial deadlines for external professional bodies (e.g. FCA)
·Work with Accountant to update fixed asset register and ensure depreciation is recorded.
·Develop and maintain relationships with our accountants, lenders, grant funders and any other stakeholders that will support and benefit the financial running of the organisation.
Accounting Systems:
·Competent in financial modelling systems within excel to produce annual budgets and forecasts.
·Have a good working knowledge and experience of using Xero, or similar software, supporting The Trust to streamline our accounting function.
·An ability to run reports including profit and loss, balance sheets, and project analysis.
·An ability to use Dext, or similar software, to process invoice payments.
·Supporting other staff in the use of these systems as and when needed.
Team work:
·Attend monthly team and one to one meetings.
·Support staff and volunteers to support the financial management of projects.
·Deliver training to the team as and when needed.
CPD:
·Attending any training relevant to the role
