Job summary: Are you an experienced Administrator with an interest in Maternity services, with a desire to support a multidisciplinary team working within our Maternity services at the Royal United Hospital? Are you also ready to provide support to people who access our maternity services? If the answer is yes, we'd love you to be a part of our team. We have a current vacancy in Bath Birthing Centre / Mary ward and Antenatal Clinic. This post may require you to work weekends/ nights.
Main duties of the job: Providing administrative support to the our maternity teams:
* To provide an efficient and professional reception and clerical service which gives confidence to patients and their relatives. Provide relevant information to Women and relatives clearly and in a way that they understand. To answer all telephone enquiries, taking and relaying messages in a polite and helpful manner, taking action as appropriate whist updating patient electronic record. To liaise with Nurses, Doctors, GP's and other members of the Department team obtaining and communicating necessary information accurately to assist the provision of a quality service for the women.
* To maintain the Hospital Electronic Tracking System for the tracing of health record
* To maintain woman's details /appointments on the patient administration system efficiently so that there is timely and accurate information available at all times on patients.
* To support the Reception staff and other members of the multidisciplinary team in an efficient and courteous manor: checking in and checking out women and their families visiting the outpatient department.

Person Specification
Qualifications Essential:
* good general standard of education
* IT skills
* experience of working in an office environment
Desirable:
* previous experience of working in NHS or similar setting
Experience Essential:
* working face to face with the public in a busy environment- good customer care skills
* previous reception experience
* working in an administrative post
* the ability to works as part of a team
* prioritise own work load
Desirable:
* knowledge of medical terminology
Salary: £24,465 a year per annum, pro rata
Contract: Permanent
Working pattern: Full-time, Part-time
