Electrical Maintenance Engineer Based in Wolverhampton Circa £50,000 packageWe are seeking a talented Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join a leading Wolverhampton based manufacturer, looking after all aspects of their workshop operation.This role is very hands on and will offer something different everyday. An electrical maintenance engineerensures the safety, reliability, and efficiency of electrical systems and equipment. They achieve this through preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing infrastructure like press machines, CNC machines and automated equipment.This is a shop-floor-based role, requiring a proactive engineer who is comfortable working directly on machinery, solving problems in real time, and supporting production demands.Benefits and contract for electrical maintenance engineer:Circa £50,000 per annum base salary38 hours per weekDay shift - 0700 - 1600 with early finish FridayPension enrolment28 days holiday per annumOnsite parkingOnsite canteenOngoing support and trainingKey Responsibilities of the electrical maintenance engineer:Maintain and troubleshoot electrical systems across fabrication equipmentCarry out hands-on fault finding and repair to minimise downtime in a fast-paced fabrication environmentProgram, diagnose, and modify PLC systemsConfigure and maintain HMI systems, ensuring operators have reliable and efficient machine interfacesAssist with installation, commissioning, and upgrades of fabrication and automation equipmentDiagnose and resolve faults in, PLC control systems, HMI/operator panels, drives, motors, encoders, and sensorsWork closely with production teams to optimise equipment performance and process efficiencyMaintain up-to-date electrical schematics, PLC programs, and HMI documentationSupport preventative maintenance and continuous improvement projects across the fabrication shopEnsure compliance with electrical standards, machine safety, and health & safety regulationsIntegrate robots with PLC systems and automated production linesTroubleshoot robotic faults including controllers, teach pendants, sensors, and vision systemsRequired Skills & Experience for the electrical maintenance engineer:Proven experience in a hands-on electrical engineering role within fabrication, heavy manufacturing, or metalworking environmentsStrong working knowledge of: - PLC programming, diagnostics, and modificationRobotics experience is essential, ideally within fabrication - Programming and fault findingAbility to read and interpret electrical drawings and control system schematicsStrong, practical problem-solving abilityIntegrate sensors, drives, and robotic systems into automated workflowsSupport commissioning of new production lines and equipmentEnsure compliance with:- BS 7671 Wiring Regulations- Machinery safety standards (UKCA / CE marking)Implement and maintain robot safety systems:- Light curtains- Interlocks- Emergency stopsConduct risk assessments for automated and robotic equipment Qualifications & Knowledge of electrical maintenance engineer:HNC/HND, NVQ Level 3, or Degree in Electrical Engineering or related disciplineTesting qualificationBS7671 18th Edition wiring regulations Level 3 or aboveKnowledge of:Three-phase systemsMotors, drives, and VFDsSensors and safety circuitsIf you are a experienced electrical maintenance engineer and Wolverhampton is a commutable distance for work - apply today.
