An interesting and varied opportunity has arisen within the Blood Science Department for an experienced Administrator/Secretary to join the team on a permanent flexible part time basis.
We are looking for someone who can be clear, confident and empathetic with their communication. Have a desire to help others, maintain a flexible approach to work loads and support to both senior staff and patients.
Main duties of the job
Working with the Clinical Chemistry Consultant and Senior Administrator to manage the timely processing of the Lipid Clinic workload.
Provide a professional interface for patients who are accessing the clinical service.
Support the day to day operations of the Blood Sciences Department by providing administrative skills.

Education, Qualifications & Training
Essential criteria
* GCSE or equivalent in Maths, English and a Science subject at grade C/4 or above
* NVQ level 3 or equivalent in a related subject
Desirable criteria
* Pitman secretarial training
Experience
Essential criteria
* Experience within a healthcare or science environment within the last 3 years
* Work carried out to meet specific deadlines
* Experience of and confident working with Microsoft Office
* Previous secretarial experience to include producing agendas, minutes and minute-taking
* Previous experience of ensuring action points arising from meetings are progressed and followed up in a timely manner
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Essential criteria
* Accurate Keyboard Skills
* Previous use of computers
* Good manual dexterity
* Ability to plan, prioritise own work and multi task

* Ability to remain calm under pressure
