You will be working at GSK’s Worthing manufacturing facility where you’ll be learning how to maintain and improve our pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment and facilities. We manufacture and supply reliable, high-quality medicines and vaccines to meet patients’ needs and drive our performance. Our network of 37 medicines and vaccines manufacturing sites delivered 1.7 billion packs of medicines and 409 million vaccine doses in 2024 to help make a positive impact on the health of millions of people. Our supply chain is not just core to our operations; it’s vital to bringing our innovations to patients as quickly, efficiently and effectively as possible. Education required:
* 5 GCSE or equivalent with a grade 5 in Maths
Language requirement: Written and spoken fluency in English.
Other requirements:
* If offered a position the candidate must be willing to enroll and meet entry requirements.
* Must be able to commute to the GSK Worthing site and Chichester College Group colleges in Worthing or Crawley
* Worthing is a Penicillin Manufacturing site. Please consider this if you are allergic to beta-lactam penicillin

A normal day at Worthing for me consists of working with and learning from my team, using the resources and personnel to help further educate myself about mechanical and electrical engineering. My role involves maintaining equipment and assisting with breakdowns to ensure production keeps running to schedule and that the site can function properly.
Ahead together with tailored training and career development
This is a 4 -year practical, hands-on apprenticeship where you’ll be working towards a level 3 Mechatronics apprenticeship through Chichester College Group.
Your studies are fully funded by GSK, and through your day-day work you’ll have lots of opportunities to apply your theoretical knowledge in a real-world manufacturing environment.
You will have a buddy and/or mentor who will help you to prepare for joining GSK and who will be there to offer support and guidance throughout your apprenticeship
What will you do?
* The first year of your apprenticeship will include attending college one day a week where you will gain an understanding of Engineering principles and workshop safety.
* Following this you will work across multiple Engineering departments each on an approximate 12-month rotation.
* You will work with experienced Engineering Technicians responding to equipment breakdowns, fault finding/problem solving issues and supporting completion of routine maintenance.
