About the role
We are seeking a Chartered Engineer as our Engineering Manager - South to partner closely with our project teams across the Lower North Island and South Island.
Who we are looking for
This role requires strong expertise in structural and temporary works, sound knowledge of planning and method engineering, and the ability to develop practical construction processes and methodologies to suit complex projects.
Your technical capability will also be key in supporting quality assurance, including the development and implementation of engineering documentation and processes across all relevant disciplines on our projects.
This position can be based in either our Wellington or Christchurch office. While most of your time will be spent working from the office or local project sites, travel across the Lower North Island and South Island will be required.
To be considered for this role you will have:
1. Extensive engineering experience, particularly in construction-related temporary works
2. Relevant engineering tertiary qualification (IPENZ essential)
3. Strong understanding of New Zealand construction standards
4. Proven technical capability and professional credibility
5. Responsible for reporting, auditing and technical training.
6. Experience working for a Tier 1 main contractor on medium to large-scale commercial projects
7. High level of personal integrity and strong work ethic
8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with project teams, subcontractors and clients to build and maintain strong relationships
