Rawlinson & Hunter (R&H) is an international firm of Chartered Accountants with 15 partners and 200+ staff in the UK. R&H provide expert financial, taxation & accountancy advice and business services on a highly personalised basis. Our private clients are typically High Net Worth individuals or families, each of whom are unique and have precisely tailored reporting needs. In support of those needs we deliver sophisticated consolidated wealth reporting, which comprises of investment reports, expenditure reports and performance reports, in addition to management accounts. The firm is committed to bespoke IT development, having been developing in-house applications for 20+ years. In the last 5 years this team has rapidly expanded and now boasts a team of over 15 people, including developers, cloud specialists, support and training staff.
The Position
We are looking for an experienced .NET developer to assist with the development of our proprietary investment reporting applications, specifically working on our investment data feed application. This application is a no-code workflow engine, empowering end users to configure new data feeds, data transformations and workflows without any developer intervention. The position involves full-stack contributions, including front end (HTML/Razor), backend (.NET Core), and data (SQL Server) architecture.
Centred on core product engineering, this role requires expertise in maintainability, scalability, and performance. With an ambitious feature roadmap in place, the ideal candidate will hit the ground running and should feel confident in taking responsibility for the wide variety of work involved.
The Candidate
Required Technical Skills:
* .NET Core / .NET MVC (C#)
* MS SQL Server
* HTML / CSS / JavaScript
* Git
Essential Experience & Attributes:
* 3+ years in a commercial .NET environment, delivering production software
* Strong analytical mindset and ability to communicate complex ideas simply
* Proven track record of on-time delivery and ownership of features
* Self-starter who organises and prioritises work under minimal supervision
* Confident in using standard front end JavaScript libraries (e.g. DataTables, jQuery etc.)
Experience that will differentiate the candidate:
* Working within accounting or investment management industries. Specifically working with investment products
* Client service experience, particularly with private clients.
* Exposure to no-code/low-code workflow engines or data integration platforms
* Experience of creating and maintaining CI/CD Pipelines (ideally via Github Actions)
* Experience of automated testing (Unit Testing/Integration Testing/Test Driven Development (TDD))
